I had an accident and require surgery so I asked for a medical expedited case. It was straight away sent to Delhi and there we received packet 3 and 4. his interview was set and we did not get our visa. He was given a form 221 tasking for his ration cards and voters cards from 1990 to present. We have no idea why this happened. they never even looked at any paperwork or pics. what happens now I wonder?

Everything went like a breeze. Staff at the embassy was very friendly. The consulate who was interviewing us was very pleasant and kept joking and smiling.

Overall smooth experience. To read my interview details, click on the link below:

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My wife went for a CR1 interview at the Mumbai consulate on May 24th.

She submited all the documents to VFS in Ahemdhabad on the 14th of May. They took the DS230, AOS, and a few e-mails for proof of on going relationship. She had taken with her wedding pictures, 7 months of e-mails, and telephone records to VFS. They told her to bring the rest of the evidence to the interview.

Interestingly, VFS told her that I needed to submit my 1040 tax returns for 03-05, (I had provided IRS tax transcripts to NVC and they did not have any issues with that). They also insisted that she brings with her to the interview an employment letter, and a bank statement (I had submited 6 months work of pay checks - I would have though that would be sufficiant). So I managed to get all that information over the course of two days and sent it express delivery.

She had her medical on the 22nd at Breach Candy, and no issues there. On the 23rd she was a nervous wreck, ... read complete review

Yes, our interview went really well..
There were not much complicated questions asked.
it took almost 10 minutes. The questions were basically about how we met, how we got married, etc.
A little wearisome part of it was that we had to take the DD once again with the new exchange rates. We knew it only just before the interview. We were given time to go out and take it before the interview.

my detialed experience is posted here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67226

IR1 Visa Interview - Tuesday, April 3, 2007: My spouse's interview was scheduled at 8:00 Am, New Delhi US Embassy. He arrived an hour and half early to stand in line, but as he arrived, the guard saw his letter and directed him to stand in the U.S. line, which was much shorter. He went through security and was directed where to sit to wait for about two hours. They gave back all the VFS papers and kept the police report and medical exam. There were two interviewers, a young man and an middle-age woman. They made my spouse feel at ease and even joked with him about the amount of phone calls/bills we had, and the cards we sent to each other. They said "your visa is approved and you may pick up your passport and visa next week" and then he thanked them and we celebrated on the telephone outside the embassy. Very smooth and efficient.
